Want to get more involved in what’s happening in Steubenville around the issue of rape culture?

Why not get involved in our open source, crowd sourced film!

We can’t be there for the trial so we’re hoping that you can be our eyes and ears and voices instead…

Something like this needs all kinds of people, so don’t worry if you’ve never filmed anything before! Just take a look at the job list below to see if there’s anything that you think might suit you.

If you have filmed something before – even if you’re just a keen beginner – we would love to hear from you or you can email us at:

mindfuller@nym.hush.com

We would be especially interested in hearing from anyone with professional experience or who is an aspiring cinematographer, and anyone who has a DSLR capable of shooting HD video or other professional equipment and would be willing to lend or supervise equipment for filming.

Introduction

There has already been plenty of coverage from the early Occupy Steubenville rallies.

There will also be plenty of coverage of the trial from a variety of media.

Our interest is in creating an open source micro-documentary of the Occupy Steubenville movement reaching its apex – and of the broader themes of rape in our society – a documentary from the perspective of the local community itself.

I would like to cover the time period from the beginning of the trial, through to the announcement of whether there will be any further prosecutions and the few days and weeks following the announcement as the community digest the outcome of the trial.

After completion, all footage will be released into the public domain under a Creative Commons license.

Here is an example of some recent video work.
